Whatca Workin On Wednesday

I made this doll in memory of my grandfather.

Her dress and hair bows are made from one of his shirts. I am making one for my Grandma, Mom and all of my Aunts and Uncles and cousins using his clothes. I made this tag to go with her.That adds up to over 20 some dolls. So I'll be busy for awhile but it's something I'm willing to do. I've decided to use the shirt scraps to make a quilt for Grandma after all the dolls are done. It's something I can do to still feel close to my Grandpa.

In other news we are snowed in.

Finally I've got something I can show for Wednesday. It's been a very long time since I had anything at all to share.

We have snow and way more ice than I care to have. The kids have been off of school for two days now and My Dh did not have to in to work today and I just decided to call off. I'm not gonna risk driving in this stuff. I'm staying in where it's nice and warm. Wayne ventured out this morning and brought in a piece of ice at least a 1/2 inch thick. At one time we were under a Level 3 snow emergency, which means no one is allowed on the roads unless they are emegency personel this eans the Sherrif, ambulances or firetrucks.But believe it or not some people just have to venture out anyway. Not me I'm one to stay home if they tell me too. My two uncles are without powe and not sure when it will come back on. We don't lose power too often so we are one of the lucky ones

Well I'm off to make a few more dolls. So I'll catch ya later -stay warm.

I'm Back and Thank you

I know it's been awhile since my last post I just had no desire to be online or do much else for that matter.But I know my Grandpa wouldn't want me to sit around feeling sorry so it's time for me to get on with life and living. I first of all want to thank everyone for their kind comments about my grandpa. I really appreciate it.

I really don't have alot to share at this time because DH was in hospital for 4 days due to severe pneumonia but he is home and better now.He was off work all last week but went back today. I am working on ideas for things I want to create so hopefully soon I'll have something to show. I plan to get back to blog reading because I have so much catching up to do. I don't want all my blooger friends to think I have forgotten about them. So I'm of to do some reading.

I Love You Grandpa!

Just a few days ago my world was forever changed and I lost the greatest man I ever knew. My grandfather. He wasn't just a grandfather; he was the father I never knew. But he was more than just a father figure he was my hero, my role model and my friend. He was a gentle man. Never in my 37 years did I hear him raise his voice in anger. He was a stubborn man and things had to be done his way or they weren't right even if you knew it could be done a better way. He just always did it his way. He was always willing to lend a hand when you needed him and hardly ever did you hear him complain. Though I’m sure Grandma did.
He wasn't one to say I love you, He showed his love in the things he did for you. He could fix just about anything and knew so much. He had many stories to tell and even though you'd heard them many times before they never changed and one never got tired of hearing them.
He wasn't just Mr. Fix-it; he could bake a pretty mean pie and made the best ever peanut brittle. He wasn't without his faults nor was he perfect but none of that mattered to me because in my eyes he was Grandpa and that made him perfect. I feel so blessed to have known such a wonderful man. He was an all around great guy and the center of my universe.
My world has shattered and it will never be the same again. But I know that he is in good hands up in heaven and trying to fix all the things that need fixing. Though he is no longer physically with us he is forever in our hearts
He will be missed so much by every one. WE LOVE YOU GRANDPA JOE!

This isn't how I was looking for 2009 to start...What can you say when god takes your grandpa?

I never knew how much it would hurt me ..
In the back of my mind.. I keep telling myself it's a bad dream...
It will go away...........
I have never lost someone so close to me before...
But It's not me who I am worried about........
Please God take care of my Grandma we aren'tready to lose another one...
Please watch over my family...
Let my grandpa live inside of us...
Why did he have to go????

I can only be strong for my grandma but God it is hard....

You can't say everything will be fine... when your own heart is breaking.....
I know my grandpa past away doing what he loved......
I hope the God has alot of things that needs to be fixed.....

I'm still here

Gee I can't believe it's been almost two weeks since my last post. I've just been so busy with Christmas shopping and gift making and running here and there. I did manage to make a couple of sweaters though.

LOL ornamnets that is. I certainly would have no time to make wearables ones. I love these little sweaters. They knit up in no time. I am planning a couple as Valentine's Day ornies too. I even make little hangers to go with them but forgot to get a pic of. I've got most of my shopping done now i have to get busy and finish up the gift making part and then start the baking. It just seems never ending. But I do enjoy it so I don't mind. It just leaves me with little or no computer time but I'll get back to regular blogging after Christmas.

Today I was supposed to have an ultra sound because I have an enlarged uterus. But the lab taech called in sick today so I have to wait til Thursday . I'm not going to stress too much over it. If it means have a historectomy then hey I'm all for it. I wont mind not have a monthly visitor. But I wont know any thing til then so no worries for now.

In other news. I am going to meet Heather today. We have been blogging buddies for several months and discovered we dont live too far away from each other. We have made plans to meet a few times before but things happened so it didn't work out. I am excited and can't wait to meet her.I'll be sure to take lots of pics so you too can enjoy our meeting.

Well I have a few things I need to work on and then prepare to go to Heather's house. Have a happy Monday everyone.

Whatca Workin On Wednesday

Well it's that time again. I do have a few items to show you. First is a couple of stocking made from red ticking and flannel. I've seen a few of these on other ladies blog. It were supposed to be a quick and easy item but leave it to me to make it difficult. I managed to sew the pieces together wrong so that the flannel cuff was on the inside so I had to take them apart and resew them. I didn't do this with just one stocking though as it turns out I did it with both. You'd think I would have learn from y first mistake. Apparently it take more than one mistake to learn from it. LOL

Then I made acouple of simple star ornaments out of wool felt. It's nothing fancy and I just added a wooden button to the middle.
And finally a couple of wool mittens ornaments.

Well thats all I have for today. I'm off to do some shopping. I need more wool felt. I love working with it. Have a happy Wednesday.
