Wow has it been that long.

Gee I can't believe I've been away for so long. I've just been so busy with things at the shop and helping with a wedding that time got away from me.Right now we are preparing for a yarn tasting party. What is a yarn tasting party? well it our way of introducing the new yarn lines we are going to carry in the store. Customers get a chance to play with some great fibers.
But anyway I'm back and what a good way to do so by posting about a give away we are having over on the shop blog. We're giving away a cool Halloween ag made by Sister Donnely. Hurry on over for your chance to enter.

Whatca Workin On Wednesday

Not much to show today except a Halloween item. I made this witches hat. I didn't use a pattern. I'm really getting in the mood for fall.

I was going to leave it plain like this but decided it was too plain

so I added a patch and ribbon. Now it's more to my liking.

The innocence of a child.

On Monday's I baby sit my cousins little girl Liliana. I just love her she is a baby doll and such a sweet happy child. She is 19 months old. I couldn't resist taking pictures of her. And of course I had to share them with you.

This little wooden book measures 5 1/2 inches high and 3 3/8 inches wide.

It includes a spell for Hairy Warts

And it was published by the Black Hat Publishing Co @ 1692

A must have for every witch and all her spell casting needs.

Cherished treasures.

Believe it or not I am actually posting about something I did not make but something I treasure more than anything I have ever made. I was visiting Dawn and she posted a pic of a little black stool she found at a sale and it made me a bit nostalgic and reminded me of the little stool my FIL made as a christmas gift 14 yrs ago for my son who is now 16. Just a few months after he made the stool and matching chair he passed away with lung cancer. He was so proud to see his grandson enjoying those wonderful gifts. Once Brendan out grew the chair and stool they were put away until the time our youngset son was old enough and they were again used by Parker who never got to know his grandfather. Both my children have long since out grown these treasured items

They have weathered with use and time but I will not part with them because one day I am sure that when grandkids come along( in the very distant future) that they too will get use out these cherished heirlooms. But in the mean time they are once again in use by my cousin's little girl whom I babysit every Monday.

I'm sure that when my FIL made these he had no idea it would be a gift that kept on giving.

I made it. Can you believe it?

Tomorrow my grandma's side of the family is having a reunion which is held at her house. So of course we have to go. Each family is asked to bring an item for a chinese auction.Usually I sew a purse or a little doll but this year I wanted to make something different. I came up with this prim sign which is actually inspired by the cornhole score board I made a few days ago( few posts down).
It took a couple of hours to make with Wayne's help. He drilled the holes for the hooks and cut the wood but I painted it and I love it. My 16yr old gave it his seal of approval because he said it was "pretty sweet". Now I'm not so sure I wanna give it up. Guess I'll just have to make another one for myself. I may even make a couple to sell at the store.
Miss Ginger wanted say hello to my bloggin buddies and to see what I was doing. She's such a curious kitty.
