One of these days.

Soon I hope to be able to actually set down and post. But right now tings are just way too busy. I did manage to get the sewing machine fixed. Just had a piece that was loose and DH tightened. Thank Goodness it was an easy fix.

We did find out that DH is getting laid off the week of Thanksgiving. He will be off for 2 weeks, work for 2 weeks then be off for 2 more weeks. So we are scrambling to get as much Christmas bought while he is still working. Then I am going to get as much made as I possilbly can.

Well I am off to get ready for work. Again my apologies for another short post.

  3. So sorry to hear about hubby...it's so scary to go to work in the morning thinking everything is good but then you get hit with bad news. I hope everything will work for you. I am giving some homemade gifts this year just because it helps the budget. I only get my pay once a month...so I only have one more check before X-Mas. But the gift receivers love handmade so that makes it much funner to give. But in all don't we have a tendency to always over do it??? Christmas is not suppose to be about gifts...it's suppose to be about the birth of Christ and being with your family. I am trying to print that in my girls heads and so far it has been working.

    Hope all will be OK...

  4. Jen,
Im sorry to hear about your hubby. I know that times are tough for everyone, but when one loses a job it just add insult to injury.

I have explained to my kids that Christmas just isnt gonna be the same this year. I know that's ugly to say, but we just can't afford it.

I am glad to hear that you got your sewing machine fixed. Thats a plus.

Big Hugs to you and your family. Hang in there. Hopefully things will get better for us all.

    Hugs,
    Tammy

  5. I can empathize with you on the job situation. There are numerous bloggers in the same situation. My dh still has a job---for now but there are weeks off in the future there too and he had to go to 3 to 11. Lots of changes....Glad your sewing machine was easy to fix. I don't use mine often enough but I would be lost without it. I think Christmas will be 'slim' in many homes this season. Maybe it will be the beginning of getting back to the real reason for the season....
