I'm still here

Gee I can't believe it's been almost two weeks since my last post. I've just been so busy with Christmas shopping and gift making and running here and there. I did manage to make a couple of sweaters though.

LOL ornamnets that is. I certainly would have no time to make wearables ones. I love these little sweaters. They knit up in no time. I am planning a couple as Valentine's Day ornies too. I even make little hangers to go with them but forgot to get a pic of. I've got most of my shopping done now i have to get busy and finish up the gift making part and then start the baking. It just seems never ending. But I do enjoy it so I don't mind. It just leaves me with little or no computer time but I'll get back to regular blogging after Christmas.

Today I was supposed to have an ultra sound because I have an enlarged uterus. But the lab taech called in sick today so I have to wait til Thursday . I'm not going to stress too much over it. If it means have a historectomy then hey I'm all for it. I wont mind not have a monthly visitor. But I wont know any thing til then so no worries for now.

In other news. I am going to meet Heather today. We have been blogging buddies for several months and discovered we dont live too far away from each other. We have made plans to meet a few times before but things happened so it didn't work out. I am excited and can't wait to meet her.I'll be sure to take lots of pics so you too can enjoy our meeting.

Well I have a few things I need to work on and then prepare to go to Heather's house. Have a happy Monday everyone.

Whatca Workin On Wednesday

Well it's that time again. I do have a few items to show you. First is a couple of stocking made from red ticking and flannel. I've seen a few of these on other ladies blog. It were supposed to be a quick and easy item but leave it to me to make it difficult. I managed to sew the pieces together wrong so that the flannel cuff was on the inside so I had to take them apart and resew them. I didn't do this with just one stocking though as it turns out I did it with both. You'd think I would have learn from y first mistake. Apparently it take more than one mistake to learn from it. LOL

Then I made acouple of simple star ornaments out of wool felt. It's nothing fancy and I just added a wooden button to the middle.
And finally a couple of wool mittens ornaments.

Well thats all I have for today. I'm off to do some shopping. I need more wool felt. I love working with it. Have a happy Wednesday.

The Ghost of Christmas Past

Friday Wayne and I watched The Polar Express. It was really nice to spend time with him like that. Sure it's a cildrens movie but it's becoming a classic and aren't all just kids at heart anyway. However it did make me feel a little nostalgic.

I remember Christmas felt so magical as a child. We didn't worry about how we were going to pay bills and still buy figts for the family. My brother and I just knew that if we wrote a letter to Santa he would bring us exactly whatwe wanted.
It was so exciting to bake the perfect cookie on Christmas Eve because the store bought ones just wren't good enough for Santa. My brother and I could hardly wait for the time to come to get into our jammies and set ou the plate of cookies and milk for Santa and a carrot or two for his reindeer.
When bedtime finally came though we we're too excited t sleep and we'd lay awake for hours listening for Santa's sleigh bells or the pitter patter of reindeer hooves on roof.

But we never did manage to stay awake long enough because we dosed off for just a short time but in that time Santa always managed to arrive without a sound.

We'd wake up again long before time to get up and then sneak out to the tree, tip-toeing ever so quietly, so Mom wouldn't hear us, and sure enough the cookies and carrots were gone and milk glass sat there empty. Under the tree was the exact toy we had been wanting for months.

Mom would never let us open our gifts before 6am. She said she needed a little sleep-imagine sleeping on Christmas, adults were so strange back then-LOL. So we sit in either my room my brother's sometimes for a couple of hours waiting in anticipaton for the clock to hit 6. Then we would rush into Mom's room and jump on to her asking can we open gifts now. And she always managed to make us wait at least another half hour befor we actually made it to the tree.

I loved those days and sometimes I miss them but nowdays I enjoy sharing the magic of Christmas and some of the same family traditions with my children.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all my blogging friends and their families.

Whatca Workin On Wednesday and an Update

Wow it's been awhile but I actually have something I can post for Whatca workin on Wednesday. Hard to believe but true.

I'm still making doll dress for my grandma, two down one to go. Also I'm working on a couple of gingerbread men for a friend.

Last week Sandy posted some easy candy canes so I thought I'd give em a try. I'm still working on getting them wrapped up but it's coming alog pretty quickly and I should be able to get them aged sometime today. Thanks for the idea Sandy, your a doll.

I'm working on some knitting too but didn't take a picture incase the relative I'm knitting for decides to take a peek at my blog.

Now for my kitty update. Thanks to everyone for their kind words. Whiskers is doing much better. As it turns out he did not need to have his toe amputated. The vet just stitched it up, however he may not be able to retract his claw on that toe. We are not sure yet and wont know til his bandange is removed. He is starting to walk a few steps at a time before his back legs give out but a few is better than none. He may never completely walk as he once did only time will tell. I'm just happy he survived all this. He is a permanant indoor cat from now on.

My furnance was an easy fix thank goodness. A wire had come loose and my grandpa was able reattach it with no problem. I was so glad it cost me nothing to fix it.
Well I must go get ready for work. Take Care and Have a Happy Thanksgiving

Didn't mean to dessert you.

Sorry for not posting since Monday but it's been a little crazy here. On Monday night my cat got hit by a car or at least we think that is what happened. We found him lying in the yard unable to walk. We took him to the vet and he has a broken hip and a toe that will need to be amputated. It was a little touch and go Monday and Tuesday we weren't sure he was going to live. The vet put him on an iv and kept him over night. When I went back Wednesdy to pick him up he was still pretty weak. He is getting a little stronger each day. He still can't walk but he can move his back legs so we are sure that he will recover but may always walk with a limp. But right now it's like taking care of a infant. We have to feed him every few hours and change his pads when he potty's and boy does he let you know when he's done his business. And he has meds hje has to take two times a day.
I have to take him back in a week so the vet can look at his toe and make sure it has to come off. He didn't want to do any surgery til he was stronger.

And as if that was not enough, the furnance has decided to take a break. Let me tell it's cold in my house. Not quite a cold as outside but cold enough that I am sitting under blankets. I called my grandpa to come look at it but he's not home right now. So I just have to wait til he gets back to find out what the problem is. Brr, hurry home grandpa.

A little of the white stuff.

Woke up this morning to snow. Not alot of snow, it's what a friend who is from up north(she knows who she is :P) would call a light dusting but it's snow none the less. When the boys saw it had snowed the first thing they asked was "Do we have a 2hr delay?" I had to laugh. Kids are so funny. It's still snowing but the ground is too wet for it to stick. It's been awhile since we've had snow before Thanksgiving and for once I don't mind.

Ok now on to other business, well not really it just sounded good. I have tons of house cleaning to do today and craft thing to work on so I better get my butt in gear and get to it. Have a nice day.

Bet you thought...

I had abandoned you. In a sense I did. These last few weeks I just didn't feel like myself. My creativity or my desire to create had pretty much gone by the wayside. I had no deisre to do anything but lay on the couch when I was not at work. I didn't even feel much like being online or even around my friends. I have read none of my blogs and I have not even gone to the shop. I told no one about what I was feeling. I guess I just had a little bit of a mental melt down. But then it could also be a result of what is going on in my life and it just finally caught up with me. Without going into too much detail I will say that my DH right now is not able to drive so I have to take him to work every morning. This means getting up at 5 am after getting off work at 11pm the night before and sometimes not falling into bed til midnight. Then having to go pick him up from work and take him to meetings 4 days a week. So I am always running and it seems I never have a moment to myself lately and I guess I brain just shut down and decided it was taking a break from doing anything more than it had to.

But the last few days I have finally started to feel human again and have started to work on things again and I must say it feels pretty good. When creativity hits it sure comes back with a vengance. Because this week I made a baby blanket and started knitting on a Christmas present. I am also making doll clothes for some prim rabbits my grandma has to give to a couple of the great- grand daughters for Christmas and I have started making things for my Secret Santa Swap (yes I've fallen behind on that) and I am working on a few ornies for the shop. WOO what alot of stuff but I feel I am up to it. I am so ready to get back to creating.

Now I am off to get caught up on my blog reading which will take me a week to do. LOL Have a great day. I know I will now that I feel like myself again.

One of these days.

Soon I hope to be able to actually set down and post. But right now tings are just way too busy. I did manage to get the sewing machine fixed. Just had a piece that was loose and DH tightened. Thank Goodness it was an easy fix.

We did find out that DH is getting laid off the week of Thanksgiving. He will be off for 2 weeks, work for 2 weeks then be off for 2 more weeks. So we are scrambling to get as much Christmas bought while he is still working. Then I am going to get as much made as I possilbly can.

Well I am off to get ready for work. Again my apologies for another short post.

Taking a closer look- freaky

I was looking at my fall pictures and found something really strange looking. You will notice a white shape on the upper right hand side of the picture. I have no idea what it is as it was not there when I took the picture. No one was standing on the porch and there is no way it is a reflection of something else. That is just plain weird. If you click on the photo you can see it better. What do you think it could be?

Wednesday, October 29, 2008

I've got nothing.

I have nothing to share with you today. Why? you ask, well that's a good question and the answer is my sewing machine and I are on the outs at the moment. I want it to work but it has decided to take a break. And now is not a good time for it to start acting up. I have Halloween costumes to work on and orders to fill for the shop. Hubby is going to look at it tonight when he gets of work, if he's not too tired that is. He has been work 10 to 13 hours days and he's exhausted by the time he gets home. Hopefully it' a simple fix because I just can't afford to get a new one at this time.

Sorry for such a short but I have to go get ready for work. I am finishing the last day of an 8 day work week. Let me tell you I am so ready for the next two days off.
Take care and have a happy Wednesday.

Sonya Dawn has given me an award for my Fall decor. Thanks ever so much Sonya. I am honored that you like my outdoor decor. Now I have to pass the award onto 6 more folks. Alive and kickin'-but barely.

Last Tuesday my Mom, Grandma and I took a spur of the moment trip to Ohio's Amish Country. My first time for a Fall trip. It was beautiful.

One of the stores we stopped at was called Country Gatherings

.
It's a prim lovers delight with prim treasures, furniture and prim scents everywhere. I could have spent the whole day there and I would have been perfectly happy.
However they did manage to drag me out of there and we visited a few others shops before we had to head home.

But being home was not so pleasant since I promtly developed a head cold and it kicked my butt for the next 5 days. When I was not at work being miserable because I couldn't afford to miss work I was at home sleeping and pretty much doing nothing else. The guys had to fend for themselves. My house work was neglected and now I have a week's worth of house work to get caught up on.Yea the guys did help out but they just don't see the things I see that need to be done.

I am feeling much much better today and so I have my work cut out for me. I fell behind on my blog reading and my crafting and it'll take me a month of sunday's to get caugt back up. So if ya don't see me again for a few days send a search party I'll probably be buried under my work. LOL

Bit by Bit

One little bit at a time DH is slowly replacing my Fall decor with his Halloween decorations. Around my house Halloween is a big deal and by Halloween night (Mr Halloween aka DH) will have the yard fully decorated. Last night he started putting out the small stuf and soon the bigger things will be going up. I can't wait to show you when it all done.

6 Random Things about me.

This one is for Sandy, she tagged me a few weeks ago and I've been so busy I forgot to post it. I appologize but better late than never right.

1. I have one brother and no other siblings. I am 6 years older than him and we hardly ever talk despite the fact we only live 1 1/2 hours apart.

2. I cant stand anything strawberry! the site of them just make me want to puke.

3. I am scared to death of snakes. I can't even stand to see one on tv and the rubber one gross me out also.

4. I don't like to do laundry. I will do any other type of house work but when it comes to laundry I leave that to DH who as no problems with it. what a lucky girl I am.

5.I taught myself to sew. My grandmother had been after me for years to learn and even tried to teach me but I just didn't get it. So one ay I finally said I was going to try and so I bought myself a sewing machine and just practiced til I got it right. Now I can't imagine why I waited so long to learn.

6. I love blogging and enjoy visiting others blogs and meeting new bloggy friends. Bloggers are the best and so friendly.

Now I am suposed to tag five others but I think most evryone has already done this, so if you wanna play along just letme know so I can read your random things.

A little of this and that.

Wow it's been awhile since I've had something to share as of late beacuse I've been so busy. I told you in my late post I had some news - some of it's good and and some of it's a little sad.
I'll start with the sad news first beacsue I don't want to end my post on a down beat.
Remember Bob the kitten well sadly he lost his battle for survival on Wednesday. Though he was only with us a short time he touched many hearts. He survived much longer than we had expected him to so we are thankful for the time we had with him. He will be dearly missed.

Now for the good news.
I had planned to show you pics of our little booth space as it was seen here.

However before I was able to get that done we moved into our very own room and now we have a shop to call our own. Still in the same place just a better set up. There are four of us in the shop and we are calling it Four Sisters. It feels very cozy and relaxing and we are excited about this new place. So here are a few pics of the new shop.

It is will always be changing to keeps things looking fresh and new. I am looking forward to this new chapter in my life and the wonderful adventures and new friends it will bring.
We plan to have classes in quilting, spinning, candle making, soap making, knitting and crocheting. Along with kids crafts and whatever else tickles our fancy.

I'm still here.

I'm sorry I haven't blogged lately. I have been doing some major decluttering in my house and have not been online much in the last week. I feel so far out of touch with everything and am so far behind on all thats been happening. The decluttering was something that was WAY over due and it had gotten so out of control that I could no longer stand it. I felt it was hurting my creativity and I knew I had to get to it and so I dove in head first and finally got through it. I now have more time to devoteto my art work and am feeling much better now. And I have some over do blog reading to do and a few posts to write but not much time today. I do have news to share but that will have to wait til I have time this weekend.
I've missed you my friends and will be back soon. Til then Take care and happy bloggin.

Treasure Trove of prim goodies

Figured I share my lastest creations that I plan to add to my booth space. Some of it you've seen already. But a few things I just finished. I get a better pic once it's in the booth. I am excited to show you our place.

And I actually had my first sale this week. Woo Hoo! I sold some christmas gift bags. Sorry no pics to share of them. They were wachcloths that I just folded in half and added a draw string . It's a start and I'm excited. Slowly but surely our items will Sell. Donnely has special orders for yarn and I have people asking about crates and birdhouses. So it looks as if we will busy working away. Well I am headed off to work so I'll chat with you all later.

Whatcha Workin' on Wednesday.

Lets see what did I worked on this week? Well I managed to get to the Back Woods Fest last Friday and bought 10 gourds. They now currently sit in my storage room waiting to be turned into lights. I did get one done though. But I'm not sure if I like it as well as my star gourd. But I can't do them all the same now can I? LOL

Next Wayne made me up some doors to paint. They are just small wooden doors that hang on the wall. I have four more to do but I am having a hard time trying to figure out what colors to paint them. I also want to sand them to give them a more worn look but my sand paper seems to have grown legs and run off. Guess I'll just have to buy more when I get off work tonight.

I have a bird house that needs painted also. But I just don't seem to have enough time to get all my projects done right now.

Just last week I was whinning because I didn't have much to do and now I've got more than enough. That old saying is true "Becareful what you wish for.. You just might get it." LOL
Now ya know what I'm workin on. Besure to stop by and see what Leslie and the rest of the Wednesday bunch are workin on.

Wonderful Fall Day.

Today Donnely and I took another tripto the Craft Warehouse to replenish our supplies. We didn't spend near as much this time as before but we did get some things we needed and a few items that we purchased were on sale. I LOVE a bargain. But hey who doesn't right?

On the way back we drove past this wonderful pumpkin farm called Pigeon Roost Farm. We decided to stop and check it out. It was a very nice place with lots and lots of pumpkins, squash, gourds, corn stalks and even indian corn for sale.

They have a play area for the kids along with donkey rides and a corn maze. There is even a gift shop where they sell lots of goodies along with Pumpkin Butter and some Pumpkin Honey that they make right on the farm. They don't have a lot going on during the week but the lady in the shop told us on the weekends there is lots to see and do.It was a nice side trip for Donnely and I on this wonderful Fall day. I plan to take Wayne and the boys back some weekend. I think it will be a wonderful family outing that we will all enjoy.

Bob aka Kitty Update

Remember a couple of weeks ago my Aunt Aneta found a scraggly little kitten lying in the middle othe road. We never expected him to survive. Well he sure proved us wrong and 3 weeks later here is "Bob" thusly named because he is a bob-tailed kitten.
Not my name of choice. Bob lives at my grandmother's house and my grandpa was the one who called him Bob and so everyone else just continue to called him that. Bob needs lots of care and I just didn't have the time with me working outside of the home and so he went to stay at my grandparents house. My mother also lives there so she takes care of Bob. He can not see very well but he gets around the best he can.
